Michael Alapatt, M.D.


Dr. Michael Alapatt is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in the treatment of disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.

Dr. Michael Alapatt is a native of New Jersey, having grown up in both Essex and Somerset counties.

Dr. Alapatt earned an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and continued on at the Boston University School of Medicine where he graduated with his medical degree. He then completed a five-year residency in Orthopaedic Surgery from St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, an Academic Affiliate of Columbia University. He served as chief resident in his final year and he has been awarded for his nationally presented research. It was during his training, he developed a passion and keen interest in spinal disorders and enjoyed seeing patients return to an active lifestyle.

This led Dr. Alapatt to pursue further training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where he completed a spinal surgery fellowship, amongst the leaders in the field of spine surgery. His training strengthened his commitment to restoring patient’s quality of life through the least invasive techniques possible.
