Situation:
I had a diving accident on July 31, 2006. I dove too far into the pool and hit my head, blacking out for a moment. This resulted in numbness and tingling throughout both arms, a sense of heaviness, loss of fine motor coordination in the arms. I also had difficulty walking because the coordination in my legs was off and excruciating headaches. This happened at a time when my regular doctor wasn't available, so I saw someone else. He sent me to a hospital, where they told me I had a sprain. They recommended therapy and told me to see my regular doctor. When I did, he recommended the New Jersey Spine Center.
When the doctor at New Jersey Spine Center saw me, he was shocked that I could still walk and talk with the type of injury I suffered. He said, "You should be like Christopher Reeves right now." He added, "You are very, very lucky."
I work as a water and electric meter reader for a local municipality, so all I do is walk all day. I go up and down stairs. I had to keep working after my accident despite extreme pain in my neck and legs. After I was done working for the day, I did absolutely nothing.
Solution:
The doctors of New Jersey Spine Center diagnosed several health issues, including what the doctor called brisk reflexes. They sent me for an MRI and a CT scan. I had a compressed spine and C2 and C7 bulging discs. In October 2006, I underwent surgery. I saw an immediate change in terms of my headaches and leg pain.
What Makes NJ Spine Different?
I am very happy that my doctor recommended me to NJ Spine. They did the job right. The office staff was great, all very cordial and helpful.
