Functional Capacity Evaluations
![]() |
Functional capacity evaluation at NJSC is utilized to quantitatively determine a patient’s baseline physical capability. Testing assists in determining a person’s ability to perform specific tasks at home and in the workplace. Working within one’s capability minimizes the likelihood of recurrent injury and maximizes the likelihood for a successful return to work.
Functional testing also assists in identifying patients with non-organic behavior. Patients undertake a series of tests geared toward determining the parameters that provide a safe and practical work load. This assists in facilitating an early return to the work place at a safe level of function.
