New Jersey Spine Center has specialized in the treatment of patients injured on the job or in motor vehicle accidents for almost 20 years.  Early intervention and definitive diagnosis driven treatment with close management is the key to successful rehabilitation and recovery of the patient. 

 

At New Jersey Spine Center, we use a multi-disciplinary approach to care including our spine surgeons, physiatrists, and interventional pain management specialists, and physical therapists. Our staff specialists provide prompt feedback to carriers and case managers and are available to assist in facilitating the evaluation and care of the patient.

 

Our goal is to expeditiously return our patients to their previous level of function.  It is well known that early and aggressive intervention provides the highest success rate in returning patients to their prior level of function.   Our dedicated specialists and comprehensive care have a proven track record of successful outcomes.  The result of this commitment has made New Jersey Spine Center the region’s leading referral center for the treatment of occupational and other back injuries.

 

Communication

Our staff recognizes the importance of communication with nurse case managers and adjusters.  We are responsive to this by providing summary reports within 24 hours.  We have dedicated a liaison and a phone line for this purpose, making information both readily available and accessible.

 

Independent Medical Examination

Our physicians are available to assist with Independent Medical Examinations.  It is our goal to provide a fresh and independent assessment of the patient’s evaluation, care, and prognosis, as well as a realistic appraisal with respect to causal relationship.  We provide a comprehensive assessment of the global picture providing usable information to the carrier to make decision making easier and more responsible both for the patient as well as for the carrier.

    • Determination of causal relationshiop, differential diagnosis and evaluation decisions.
    • Work up of a more definitive diagnosis and treatment options.
    • Always consider non-operative alternatives, barring the presence of significant neurological deficits.
    • Surgery when necessary is always carefully considered and planned with proper education and preparation of the patient with respect to understanding the procedure, the reasonable risks, benefits, as well as reasonable expectations in the future.
    • Patient is carefully progressed with activity in the expectation that he or she will be able to succesfully return to activity levels and work.
    • We are always sensitive to the fact that there are patients we may not be able to assist and have plateaued with respect to care.
