Early Intervention
Early assessment and management of individuals with back and neck injuries is the key component in effectively treating occupational back injuries. Arriving at an accurate diagnosis during the early evaluative phase is essential in the effective treatment of all spine disorders, ranging from low-level back pain and herniated discs to cervical, thoracic, or lumbar fractures.
Non-Operative Treatment
Most work-related back injuries can be treated successfully with non-operative care. Early mobilization and pain control represent the cornerstone of treatment. At New Jersey Spine Center, our patients are treated with a variety of treatment alternatives including medication and injection procedures when indicated. Rehabilitation at the onset of low back pain can drastically reduce work loss days. Our ultimate goal is the return to prior functional levels and reducing pain levels.
Surgical Intervention
Under certain circumstances, surgery may be indicated after unsuccessful non-operative care. Many patients can be treated with micro-surgical techniques as an out-patient, quickly increasing activity levels.
