Our goal at New Jersey Spine Center is to work with patients to improve their quality of life and facilitate a successful return to routine activities and work. We use refined diagnostic and therapeutic protocols in the evaluation and treatment of our patients. Our treatment regimens encourage patients to reach their previous level of activity and are supplemented by an active rehabilitation program that includes strengthening and conditioning. This helps to facilitate a rapid return to improved function with decreased symptoms and, in most cases, a successful return to the workplace.
The likelihood of a patient successfully returning to work diminishes significantly with extended absence. We encourage the use of modified duty at work over the short term. This has proven helpful for both industry and the employee by providing the necessary interim environment for a successful return to full employment status.
At NJSC, we use a multidisciplinary approach to care including: medical management, physical therapy and rehabilitation, pain management, and surgery when prudent and necessary. We believe in making a determination of a definitive diagnosis to assist in making the proper treatment decisions, including surgery where necessary. We make every effort to facilitate decreased symptoms and pain, trying to avoid complex procedures such as fusion.
