Dr. Kenneth J. Rieger is a fellowship trained spine surgeon, specializing in the treatment of disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Committed to a patient-centered and conservative approach in the treatment of spinal pathology, Dr. Rieger works with his New Jersey Spine Center associates, as well as the patient's other care providers, to offer a personalized and balanced treatment regimen.


Dr. Rieger earned an undergraduate degree with honors from The Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in biomedical engineering.   He was awarded a medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, where he also completed a five-year residency in orthopaedic surgery.  In his final year of residency, Dr. Rieger served as Chief Resident and received the Harold M. Dick award for excellence in orthopaedics.  Following his residency training, Dr. Rieger completed the Kenton D.  Leatherman Spine Fellowship in Louisville, KY. 

 

Dr. Rieger is trained in all aspects of adult and pediatric spine surgery, with special interests including degenerative diseases of the cervical and lumbar spine, tumors, fractures, infections, and scoliosis.   He has had extensive experience in the field of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.  He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and is a candidate for Board Certification.
