J. Scott Schoeb, M.D. is a fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopaedic spine surgeon. Dr. Schoeb specializes in the treatment of disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He utilizes minimally-invasive techniques and innovative technologies to optimize outcomes for his patients.

Dr. Schoeb completed his undergraduate degree at Yale University where he played varsity football and lacrosse, winning Ivy League Championships in both sports.

 

He received his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and completed a five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at New York-Presbyterian, The University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell in New York City. During his final year, he served as administrative Chief Resident and was awarded the Alex Garcia Prize for excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr Schoeb completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Spine Surgery at the Institute for Spinal Disorders at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California.

 

Prior to joining the New Jersey Spine Center, Dr. Schoeb served in the United States Navy as a staff orthopaedic surgeon, caring for Marines returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition, Dr. Schoeb was in private practice providing orthopaedic sports medicine and trauma care for patients at the Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, California.

 

Dr. Schoeb has peer-reviewed publications in the American Journal of Sports Medicine and the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics. In addition, he has written a book chapter on Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and has numerous abstracts presented at national Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery conferences.

 

Dr. Schoeb is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and was certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2007.
