Dr. Michael Alapatt is an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon who specializes in the surgical treatment of disorders of the spine using the least invasive techniques possible.
Dr. Alapatt completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Boston University and continued on at the B.U. School of Medicine where he graduated with his medical degree. He then completed a five-year residency in Orthopedic Surgery from St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, an academic affiliate of Columbia University. He served as chief resident in his final year and he has been awarded for his nationally presented research. It was during his training he developed a interest in spinal disorders and enjoyed returning patients to an active lifestyle.
This led Dr. Alapatt to pursue further training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where he completed a spinal surgery fellowship, amongst the leaders in the field of spine surgery. His training strengthened his commitment to restoring patient’s quality of life through the least invasive techniques possible.
Dr. Alapatt is a Board Certified member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Michael Alapatt is a native of New Jersey. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his young family.
